Because indigenous peoples did not have the same dogmatic obsession with matter, the experience of physical form that western “civilization” has. But think about now, how Facebook has over 50 ways to identify gender and those in the world of tech want to upload their consciousness to the virtual world; we are reawakening, moving into once more the paradigm of spirit and soul, the age of our true-selves.
