Maya Bled for LOVE…

We have bled for fear….
Will we bleed for LOVE?

I have bled for fear
I will bleed for LOVE!

Yes for LOVE freely shall I bleed
Until my last cell red is drained
and my heart is still; this my soul’s will
Victory in death’s defeat

This is what it means to rage
for LOVE of life
Courage beyond bitterness
Ascension; rather than fester

In forgiveness, empathy and gratitude
We all rise

Yes, I shed my blood for LOVE
And not one drop did I waste…

For Maya Angelou born Marguerite Ann Johnson; April 4, 1928 – May 28, 2014:

A soul whose light for LOVE’s fight shone so bright that even her tears were smiling screams of joyous rebellion; to walk in her shadow an endless summer’s day.

just LOVE…

“We, unaccustomed to courage
exiles from delight
live coiled in shells of loneliness
until love leaves its high holy temple
and comes into our sight
to liberate us into life.

Love arrives
and in its train come ecstasies
old memories of pleasure
ancient histories of pain.
Yet if we are bold,
love strikes away the chains of fear
from our souls.

We are weaned from our timidity
In the flush of love’s light
we dare be brave
And suddenly we see
that love costs all we are
and will ever be.
Yet it is only love
which sets us free.”
